Panoramic view of CUHK

This is the aereal view of CUHK where I work, but this was painted over 10 years ago and now we've many more buildings .
I like the former university much better , it's a bit too crowded now .
I used to live on the campus in the staff quarters ( buildings to the far left ) and drive my little red car to work .
The Central Library and the square in front of it won some sort of architectural prize when they were first built .
Out of the 8 universities in HK, I think we have the nicest campus .

This was painted the year we had the big row over the retirement benefit scheme in CUHK .
The flight of the firebird could mean either :
the bird soaring to the heavens could represent a new height of achievement;
or it could mean the best of what made up CU had left .
Take your pick.

The painting was exhibited in the " Golden Jubilee Art Exhibition" at Chung Chi College , CUHK , 23-25 March 2002
It is now in the permanent collection of Chung Chi College , CUHK .
